That I enjoy a good Afternoon tea is no secret! Preferably with fresh and delicious food, balanced teas and a lovely location. Here’s my picks for the best places in Edinburgh for afternoon tea. You can find each individual review linked through the title and I’ll continuously add new ones as I experience them.
I have listed my top 3 favourites and also included list to others that I’ve tried further down.
Enjoy!
The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian
Could this be the Queen of Afternoon Tea in Edinburgh? The Caledonian offers a special treat of an experience with lovely atmosphere, artwork desserts and wonderful service from the professional team – all set in the gorgeous Peacock Alley.

The Colonnades at The Signet Library
The Colonnades at The Signet Library is a very dignified setting in the midst of the library which almost feels like the library from Beauty of the Beast – if the Beast only had old law books. One for a special occasion!

The Bonham Hotel
At The Bonham Hotel you’ll find a lovely atmosphere of a vintage decadence which makes for a perfect setting for Afternoon Tea. We went there for the Festive Afternoon Tea just before Christmas and the highlight really was the location and the atmosphere.

The Register Club
At The Register Club you’ll find good flavours, an elegant setting and some Scottish savouries instead of the classic sandwiches.

Cask Smugglers Secret Domes
The new Domes belonging to the Cask Smugglers on top of Waverley Station offer a setting with a view for Afternoon Tea, drinks or perhaps a charcuterie board.
