Tamdhu Tasting at Gleneagles Townhouse

PR invite // All thoughts and opinions are, of course, my own.

I had the pleasure of heading into town to the beautiful Gleneagles Townhousewhere I stayed recently – to take part in one of their members events with Tamdhu Whisky. Usually these events are exclusive to the Gleneagles members and they do different ones each month, so I was thrilled to be able to come along and experience it. There’s some really lovely perks of being a member, such as being able to access the Gleneagles Townhouse rooftop bar as well, which is stunning with such a gorgeous view over St Andrews Square.

I’m already a fan of Tamdhu’s whiskies but for this tasting they were also doing each whisky alongside a different sherry, which is super interesting as a fino sherry tastes so different to a pedro ximinez. There were also charcuterie boards available throughout the evening and upon arrival we got a refreshing highball. My favourite of the Tamdhu’s is probably the 18 year old as it has a velvety sherry influence without being too woody or spicy.

I always recommend a visit to Gleneagles Townhouse for anyone visiting Edinburgh as it’s a beautiful venue. It used to be a bank and in the main room you can see the impressive pillars and decorations all around the ceiling. For this event we were in a side room, which I’ve never been into before, but it felt like a stylish living room and had a terrace out the back. If you are a member it’s well worth checking out the members events, and if you are not then it’s still worth stopping by Gleneagles Townhouse for brunch, drinks or dinner. I’m interested in the brunch in particular as it seems outstanding (*hint hint* for anyone looking to get me a Christmas gift this year)!
