On our way to Sweden our flight didn’t get in until midnight so we treated ourselves to a hotel night at Clarion Arlanda Airport before continuing our journey the following day. And I would highly recommend it!
The Hotel
Hotel Clarion Arlanda Airport is located in between terminal 4 and terminal 2/3 and is accessible from all terminals by walking to Sky City. The path is indoors all the way and the desk is open 24/7 so perfect for checking in when you have a late flight.
The beds were quite soft but really comfortable and the only thing I would have preferred differently is that the room was a bit too warm for my liking. The view perhaps isn’t the most elegant as it consists of airplanes and runways but that is kind of what you are expecting from an airport hotel. I’d rather have a hotel this close to the airport than a fantastic view.
The shower was lovely as well and had the option of both a rainfall shower and a handheld piece. The shower gel, conditioner and shampoo were all from Rituals – in the scent Happy Buddha I believe – which felt luxurious and elegant.
The Breakfast
The highlight of any hotel stay for me is the breakfast – and this one didn’t disappoint. Fresh fruit, warm bread, pancakes and health shots were just some of the options and I wish I could’ve tried more but got full way to quickly.
The pancakes with whipped cream and jam were the highlight as well as the fresh bread which has plenty of options for spreads and toppings. If I could’ve tried anything else it would’ve been the omelette station where a chef made to-order omelettes. Didn’t manage to try any of the desserts but there was a smaller section of croissants, muffins and other little bites.
If we had had more energy we would’ve also checked out their gym and the heated outdoor pool which would’ve been lovely I’m sure. We also didn’t have time to try out their restaurant on the 12th floor, but I have eaten here before when I was younger and from memory it was quite nice. Well, I guess there’s just a few reasons for us to come back and I would definitely consider staying at Clarion Arlanda Airport again in the future.
