I made my own witch hat

For Halloween this year I felt particularly witchy and decided to make my myself a witch hat from the tutorial by Keiko Lynn!

I definitely have a thing for vintage-esque hats and the pointy witch hat is both iconic and elegant so as I felt more and more drawn to it I found myself searching for patterns and tutorials on how to make one myself. The best one I found is by content creator Keiko Lynn who has made a variety of witches hats in different colours and patterns which is so fun. She’s also released a pattern for those of you who prefer this to doing measurements, but in the reel you can also make one just by using a measuring tape to draft it out. You’ll find it all in the link here below.

You’ll find the pattern and link to the tutorial on Keiko Lynn’s website here.

I’m so happy with how it all turned out and now have so many ideas for future ones. The next one I might do is a pink witches hat for Valentine’s Day with a matching dress – I think that could be so cute!

Materials

1 m of felt fabric (1 m of the fabric I got is enough for two hats)

– you’ll find the fabric I got here –

Sewing thread & sewing pins

You can also get soft mesh or tulle to add a tie to the witch hat or flowers and other decorative elements to embellish it. In the future I might make one and embroider it with something cute like an autumnal leaf, a little heart or a Nordic design like something kurbits inspired.
