Baxters might be the most famous for its soup that seems to be a cupboard staple for many homes in Scotland. Now they have also launched Baxters of Scotland and teamed up with various suppliers to offer gift hampers. Most of the brands features in the hamper are Scottish and I just love exploring local produce and crafts which is why I also have a soft spot for hampers.
During the evening we got an introduction to the brand by the Baxters of Scotland team but also got to hear from some of the suppliers, including Clootie McToot Dumplings, Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier, Kinalba Cashmere och Seidear Scottish Cider. And of course try some of the food and drink offerings.
The seidear has a really interesting story and Christian, the founder, told us all about his fascinating business where he uses Scottish apples and bottle ferments his cider using Méthode Champenoise. Another new to me sweet treat was the clootie dumplings which were thoroughly delicious. I tried the one with Lindores Aquavitae which tasted like best part of cookie dough. I will definitely have to buy a Clootie McToot kit to try and make it myself at home some day!
