I don’t expect things for Christmas even though it is quite cosy to open up a gift or two, but the absolutely best thing is watching people open gifts that I’ve put time and effort in to of course.
But I am such a list person, so I couldn’t resist writing a wee wish list for Christmas!
A lovely dress
A good quality vintage inspired dress with a marked waist and hand made to my measurements is such a dream. It is also a brilliant opportunity to support smaller brands!
Here’s the ones at the top of my list:
✻ Beth Dress & Meg Pinafore – Little Women Atelier
✻ Patti Dress or Eva Dress – The Seamstress of Bloomsbury
✻ Lorraine Dress or Wendy Dress – Hearts & Found
✻ Tatiana or Lucia from Revintaria.
✻ Beatrice Dress or Violet Dress – Bedra Vintage
Hand-dyed Yarn
The beautiful colours from Fabel Knitwear are the ones that have caught my eye! Wouldn’t it just be wonderful if someone got you yarn in a colour that they thought would suit you and picked a pattern for you to knit. It would be something to do during the lockdown as well.
Vintage things
I once got a pair of lovely vintage gloves that had been used for a ball for the medical faculty at Edinburgh Uni decades ago from Mr C’s mum and it is one of the loveliest things I have ever gotten. Thoughtful and beautiful things with a history really warms my heart. You can often find something very affordable but really beautiful or interesting at second hand shops and this is the kind of gift that says “I saw this and thought of you” which I personally appreciate so incredibly much and love gifting things like that to others as well.
Geléhallon or other Swedish treats
I always miss Swedish foods, but especially now when I haven’t manage to visit my native country in over a year…
Geléhallon is a jelly candy that is raspberry flavoured and they are my favourites! The best ones you will find at Ejes in Stockholm and they’re handmade and just delightful. Easy to send in the post as well *hint hint to my parents*.
An experience voucher
Maybe a staycation, an afternoon tea or something else to look forwards to when the world opens up again. I find the most difficult thing for me mentally is not knowing when change might come which of course makes it basically impossible to have something to look forwards to if you can’t book it. With a voucher at least you know it will happen sooner or later.
