The Puff & Pencil patterns have been on my radar for quite a while now and I finally decided to try one (actually three) of them out!
I finally decided to give the Puff & Pencil Tie Blouse a go and I opted to also get the Peggy Collar and the Cone sleeves as I saw someone else had done something similar on Instagram and I really liked how it looked all together.
Puff & Pencil Tie Blouse, Cone Sleeve + Peggy Collar
I did some adjustments to my blouse so let’s talk about them. I was worried before making this pattern that it wouldn’t look very good on me, as boxy garments that have a looser fit usually is not for me. But I did som quick little changes and now I really like how it ended up. I will definitely make more blouses like this one. I’m thinking definitely a red one, maybe also a pink or a gingham one. First up I adjusted the length of the blouse so it’s cropped at my natural waist. I find this to be more flattering for my hourglass body shape. And secondly I also took it in a little by the side seams which made the fit less boxy. I thought I might need to add some darts but it looks fine without them after adjusting the side seams.
Summary
It’s a very straightforward sewing project which comes together in just a couple of hours and it’s such a cute design so it’s definitely a pattern I’ll use again.
