Mimi’s Bakehouse has been frequently recommended to me by my friends and their sweet treats tend to show up all over Instagram so I was really excited to try out their Afternoon Tea.
Mimi’s Bakehouse Afternoon Tea
We headed down to the Leith venue, which is right by the Shore, and they offered all-day brunch and Afternoon Tea as well as Beforenoon Tea which I’d love to try next time.
The interior design felt a little bit naked and almost a bit confused which took away from the atmosphere and it did not feel particularly cosy and I would say that my biggest thing to note was that it was quite loud inside which makes it quite difficult to enjoy a conversation with your own company. I know they have several venues around Edinburgh so I would love to visit more of them.
The menu had a nice variety of sandwiches, scones and sweet things and the jammy dodger tray bake was my favourite out of the selection. The sweet treats tend to be quite sweet and perhaps just a tad too much for my own preference but it’s so much fun seeing the variety of the cakes and traybake that you can find at Mimi’s. And they all had really nice flavours. Its as also such a good bonus to be offered a doggy bag to bring home the things we did not end up finishing. I always get to surprised by how quickly you get full when having Afternoon Tea. The sizes of the scones, sandwiches and cakes were definitely generous as well so I don’t think you would ever leave feeling hungry.
